SUMMARY:Trent University OER Launch Party: OER? Oh! We Are!
DESCRIPTION:What happens when educators say yes to sharing?\nWhen students say yes to co-creating?\nWhen learning says yes to openness?  \nJoin us for the virtual launch of our new Open Education Resource; a project built on collaboration\, curiosity\, and the belief that learning is deepened when it’s shared.  \nThis won’t be a formal presentation. It’s a call and response experience. It’s an invitation to join a community.  \nWe’ll share the story behind the resource: why we built it\, what problems it hopes to solve\, and how it invites a response. You’ll hear short reflections from contributors\, see inside the resource itself\, and have space to respond: in the chat\, on the mic\, in ideas sparked for your own teaching and learning.  \nCome explore how this resource might liven your courses\, reduce barriers\, and open new pedagogical possibilities. Bring your curiosity. Bring a question. Bring a colleague or a classmate.  \nLet’s launch something and respond to what it becomes.  \nHosted by Terry Greene\, Senior eLearning Designer\, with collaborators Darcy Culp and Najah Wardat.  \nIf you have any questions\, please feel free to reach out to teachingcommons@trentu.ca \nUpdate\nOh! We Are! was definitely launched in this webinar and is available to all at https://ecampusontario.pressbooks.pub/openattrent

SUMMARY:I wrote this…For You: Framing Audience(s) for Your Open Education Resources
DESCRIPTION:From the New Mexico Open Educational Resources Consortium (NMOER): \nDetermining who will read an open education resource (OER) is not a straightforward question. Sure\, there are your students\, but what are their needs? Also\, placing your OER out into circulation brings the opportunity for new audiences. Who are they? What are your obligations to these audiences as you write/revise and OER? In this presentation we will think with a little bit of rhetorical theory about audience but also talk practically about how to think about and respond to audiences. Even if you have not (yet) written an OER\, this presentation might be useful for broader conversations about (digital) instructional materials and their potential for relational responding to learners. \nPresented by Dr. Mary Rice\, Associate Professor\, Literacy and Language Arts (LLA)

SUMMARY:Tuesday Demos Live: AI Declaration Statement from Kwantlen Polytechnic University
DESCRIPTION:Learn about and try out yourself the AI Declaration Statement developed at OEGlobal member Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). The template is woven into a Pressbooks Template offered to KPU faculty as a starting step for creating OER AI Declaration Statement template. \n\n\n\n\nWhen: Tuesday\, March 17 10:00am – 11:30am PDT (check for local time)\nWhere: Register to attend via zoom\nRecording:  Now available https://youtu.be/fbgALYrRMrc\nDiscuss: in OEG Connect\n\n\n\n\nAmanda Grey from KPU will share how and why the template was developed\, including its being remixed from Kari Weaver’s The Artificial Intelligence Disclosure (AID) Framework and the Me and My Machine Labels developed at Fontys University of Applied Science. \n\n\n\nAmanda shared the template last November in OEG Connect plus she and Karen presented it this week as a lightning talk for the Open Education Talks series. \n\n\n\nThis is not just talking over slides! Amanda and Karen will lead us through a guided practice of creating your own statement. So come with an OER you developed with GenAI assistance and leave with your own AI Declaration Statement you can add to it. \n\n\n\nWe will see as well some techniques KPU is trialing to have GenAI draft the statement and learn about ideas they have to make a version that is interactive. \n\n\n\nThis is also the first/premiere of our new series of Tuesdays Demo Live sessions offered by us where OEGlobal Members are here for both telling and showing their open education related projects and resources. To accomodate global schedules\, these will take place at various times on future Tuesdays. \n\n\n\nThis is also offered in conjunction with Open Education Week which does not stop after one week! \nLinks Mentioned\n\nKPU AI Declaration Statement https://kpu.pressbooks.pub/booktemplate/front-matter/ai-declaration-statement/\n\nPart of KPU Pressbooks Template https://kpu.pressbooks.pub/booktemplate/\nAI Use Self-Assessment Rubric [DOCX] https://kpu.pressbooks.pub/app/uploads/sites/263/2026/03/AI-Use-Rubric-for-OER-Creation.docx\nAmanda shared AI Declaration Statement in OEG Connect https://connect.oeglobal.org/t/ai-declaration-statement/8313\n\n\nThe Artificial Intelligence Disclosure (AID) Framework by Kari D. SUMMARY:RELCALC 3: histoire d'une REL en mathématiques

SUMMARY:The Price is Wrong: Free or Low-Cost Alternatives in Higher Education (Concordia University)
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes\, the cost of academic publishing can feel very wrong. Costs might feel wrong for students facing higher living and tuition costs\, and for researchers seeking to make their work open access. \nTextbooks\, course packs\, journal articles\, academic books\, and related online resources carry various price tags; some of which are shockingly high or low. Uncover the publishing costs in academia and learn about for-profit publishing alternatives. Participants who guess the accurate price will win prizes as we reveal how pathways within open scholarship and open education can lessen the financial burdens on students\, educators\, and researchers. \nIn twelve spins\, our version of Price is Wrong features useful information\, several slices of humour\, and prizes for our winners. In this collaboration\, Rachel Harris and Zo Kopyna from the Concordia University Library’s Open Educational Resources Team\, Ryan Van Huijstee from Concordia University Press\, and Douglas Moffat from 4TH Space act as game-show hosts\, radio announcers\, and design magicians. Together\, we encourage students\, professors\, librarians\, and staff members to join us… as volunteer game-show contestants and audience members\, take your seats! \n… \nHow can you participate? Join us in person  [4TH SPACE in the J.W. McConnell Building] or online by registering for the Zoom Meeting or watching live on YouTube. \n  \n> Learn more  \n> Part of open education month at Concordia University

SUMMARY:WordPress in Education: What we teach when we teach WordPress (WPCampus)
DESCRIPTION:Across higher education\, WordPress is used as a publishing tool\, but when we engage with students\, it becomes part of the learning environment. We teach students to use the web to tell their stories. They create portfolios\, publish project sites\, and share digital humanities work. They build professional identities that travel with them beyond a single course or platform. \nAt the same time\, many student-facing initiatives that may utilize WordPress as a tool have a different shared language and vocabulary for what\, exactly\, we’re teaching: Is it web design\, digital writing\, technology literacy\, open pedagogy\, or informational literacy\, or all of the above? In practice\, it is often a mix\, and that makes it worth naming and learning from each other. \nThis online summit\, hosted by WPCampus\, the professional organization for WordPress in Higher Ed\, centers student-facing programs\, both long-standing and emerging. We’ll explore how educators and campus teams are teaching WordPress for authentic public work\, and how newer pathways like the WordPress Credits are reframing WordPress not just as a tool students use\, but an open source ecosystem that students can participate in and contribute to. \nWhy this matters now\n\nWordPress remains a highly used web platform on the open web\, which means “learning WordPress” often doubles as learning the web in a practical\, career relevant way.\nWhat participants will learn\nDefining outcomes: How campuses frame student WordPress initiatives and what they prioritize.\nTeaching models that scale: Mentorship\, peer learning\, and support structures that work across programs.\nPathways beyond the classroom: how student move from course-based projects to portfolios\, community contribution\, and career development.\nOpen source community engagement and sustainability: How student contributions feed into the larger WordPress ecosystem and help sustain open source projects.

SUMMARY:Café-jasette: Pourquoi (ne pas) partager?
