Help Colleagues and Students: Participate in Open Education Week

← Back to list of events

If you’ve ever been shocked at how much your students have to pay for textbooks or wished you had an assignment or exercise on a particular topic, you’ll be interested in Open Education Week (27–31 March). The initiative aims to make education more open, free, and available to all, and to celebrate the potential impact of open education on teaching and learning worldwide.

In celebration of Open Education Week, we’re building an Open Educational Resources collection, and we invite you to submit one syllabus, assignment, set of course materials, or learning object to CORE (https://hcommons.org/core), the Humanities Commons repository, and to add the OEW2017 tag.

Make sure to assign a Creative Commons copyright license (we recommend CC-BY, which gives others the freedom to reuse and remix your item as long as they attribute the original author) and to share your deposit with the MLA forums or Humanities Commons groups that are most likely to find your work helpful. As for all items deposited in CORE, you’ll receive a digital object identifier (DOI) confirming you as the author, and you’ll be able to see statistics about your item’s use.
