Open Credentials for Open Education

← Back to list of events
During this 60 minute webinar Ildiko Mazar will try to convince her audience that education can only be called partly open if at the end of a learning journey the issued credentials are closed. Following her introduction she will discuss with the participants the latest achievements of 2 Erasmus+ co-funded projects, namely OEPass and MicroHE, focusing on two ambitious products in development, the so-called Learning Passport and the Credentials Clearinghouse. The OEPass Learning Passport, that was partly inspired by the European Diploma Supplement, is already openly available for testing, and it applies a complex composition formula to document open learning credentials. The MicroHE Credentials Clearinghouse, tackling an even greater challenge, attempts to use an open meta-data standard to create a prototype tool for recording, displaying, verifying and sharing micro-credentials issued by higher education institutions.
