Open education in pandemic times - 8th edition International Workshop

← Back to list of events
The International Workshop is organized by Politehnica University of Timișoara, through the ID / IFR and e-Learning Centre with the support of the Eden and IEEE associations, during the Open Education Week 2021. Part of Online Together webinars Almost a year after education across the world has faced one of the greatest challenges in history – the impossibility of taking courses traditionally in classrooms, education and online courses have become the only option to attend courses/ for courses over many months, or even half-yearly/ or even semesters. Many teachers in schools and universities have struggled with the adjustment to working and teaching online, using applications, platforms, and work tools "overnight" for an indefinite period of educational “social distancing”. In these conditions of uncertainty and in such a confusing period for many actors in the field of education, free access to knowledge, open education, open educational resources, and especially collaboration between individuals and institutions have become the "engine" of digital integration, and digital transformation, even into the most rigid and traditional education systems in the world. How has the concept of open education actually contributed to improving the conditions for education during the pandemic? What projects and approaches have been set in motion by universities, associations at local, national and European level? How can we improve collaboration in universities, institutions, and the community to make the education process more efficient even in the most vulnerable demographic areas? 12 international speakers will try to answer these and many more questions through practical examples of using and integrating digital educational tools, online and mobile learning in formal and informal education, open research, how Blockchain technologies , but also virtual mobility and micro-credits can influence and contribute to the consolidation of education, but also the way in which open and digital terms are reflected in culture and creative fields. 2021 brings a highly diverse edition of speakers, with a very good gender balance, with young researchers full of enthusiasm but also teachers with years of experience behind them, with student opinions and the perspective of decision-makers, with guests from other universities in Timisoara as well as from the country, with many international guests presenting both the didactic and the organizational perspective, with diverse engineering fields, all accompanied by the obvious passion for open education. We expect you on Wednesday, March 3 from 1 pm to 5:30 pm, online, in an interactive session, addressed to both teachers and students, but also to actors in the field of culture and creative fields, IT trainers, or human resources departments. All participants will receive the OEW UPT Workshop Open Badge.
