Today: Beyond the Textbook: Zero Textbook Cost
Though publisher texts are a tradition in higher education, they can create barriers for teaching and learning, including access and accessibility issues, cost, and teaching and learning constraints. Increasingly there are alternatives to publisher texts that can help reduce or eliminate those barriers, including free material found online, library subscription materials, and open educational resources. This session will provide practical advice for finding lower-barrier course materials as well as considerations for their use in teaching practice.
