OER BASICS Course

This open online course provides an introduction to Open Educational Resources (OER) and their potential impact on teaching and learning. Participants will learn about the benefits of using OER, how to find and evaluate OER materials, and how to incorporate them into their teaching practices. The course will cover topics such as copyright and licensing, open licensing, Creative Commons, and OER repositories. Particpants will also have the opportunity to create and share their own OER materials.
Outcomes:
- Define Open Educational Resources (OER) and explain their importance in education
- Identify the benefits and challenges of using OER
- Understand copyright and licensing as they relate to OER
- Evaluate the quality of OER materials
- Search for and find relevant OER materials
- Create and share their own OER materials
