The MEC RED platform of open educatios resources is geared towards the free and open availability of educational resources in digital format for Brazilian Basic Education. It is organized into three broad areas:
1) training materials with pedagogical content on topics related to Education (courses);
2) repository of Open Educations Resources;
2.1) collections of Open Educations Resources organized by platform user’s.
From an initiative of the Ministério da Educação (MEC), the proposal is to gather and make available, in a single place, the Open Educational Resources of the main Brazilian’s repositories. Improving the search experience of these Resources.
The Platform MEC RED was developed in a partnership between: Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and Basic Education teachers from Brazil.
For the development, the UFSC team carried out a set of research actions with brazilian basic education’s teachers, inside and outside the school, based on participatory approaches that favored the interlocution with the school community .
Participative Design was used as a methodology, based on the decision-making of the interdisciplinary teams of the project. Based on the research actions carried out with the teachers, it was possible to better understand the contexts of integration of the digitals ICT into the school curriculum and the uses of OER in pedagogical practices, contributing to the development of the platform in a way that is closer to the teachers' realities.
On the platform you can: Publish, evaluate and keep the open educational resources in collections; follow users and collections; download resources and access available courses.
