Often OER exploration starts with a desire to replace or add course material in a specific format. In other instances, looking for specific information is primary while the format is secondary. Using this worksheet to brainstorm before launching into searching reduces time spent looking and often the frustration that comes with extensive searching OER searches. The worksheet is a helpful tool to organize OER searches and compare a current textbook with an OER title. The accompanying video walks through the sheet and how it can be used as an effective search tool.
