OER and the Academic Librarian in Africa

← Back to list of events

This Webinar follows a Workshop organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) with the support of the African Association of Universities (AAU) and UNESCO held in Accra, Ghana in October 2013 on the potential help of academic librarians in the development and promotion of open educational resources (OER) at universities in Africa. It will enable Workshop participants to meet again in order to (1) evaluate progress made in the field since then, (2) discuss the changes (if any) in academic librarians’ role and place for OER development and use in Africa, and (3) propose actions that could advance the cause of OER at African universities and reinforce the expansion of open education on the continent from now on.
