Let's Talk Openly: How to Encourage Open Educational Practices in Higher Education?

This year, SRCE will contribute to Open Education Week with session on how to encourage open educational practices in higher education. OEP - Open Educational Practices are defined as „cooperation practices which, except production, use and finalising of open educational content also include pedagogical practices with the use of technology and social networks, all with the aim of cooperation, peer learning, creation of knowledge and student empowerment“ (Cronin, 2017.). Aim of the session is to engage teachers and educators to enhance use of OER, to see its benefits and potential and to build and share their OEP. For many years, SRCE has been encouraging openness in education and science through number of activities. An overview of all SRCE activities can be viewed on SRCE OA and OER website. We invite all interested teachers, especially teachers in higher education, to participate in this online discussion. Together with you we would explore the use of open educational practices in higher education in Croatia and how SRCE, as the main computing centre and the architect of the e-infrastructure in Croatian research and higher education system and promotor of openness can help you. Activity facilitators will be Sandra Kučina Softić, Sabina Rako and Irena Jandrić. The number of participants is limited to 20 due to the format of the session.
