The Do Better Challenge: A Grant Program that Pays You to Improve OER

Lumen Learning’s Do Better Challenge grant program invites anyone and everyone to engage in the continuous improvement of open educational resources. In this session, we will share how applicants will select a learning outcome from Lumen’s list of outcomes students across the country struggle with. Small grants will be awarded to individuals to revise / remix / create new learning activities aligned with these difficult outcomes. If A/B testing demonstrates that the updated learning activities significantly improve student learning, grantees will receive a 10x bonus. We are hopeful this will be an effective way to motivate and support the work of making improvements to OER.
