Creative Commons: Sharing Knowledge for the Public Good

← Back to list of events

Creative Commons open licences have made it easier for creators to share their work. Through the use of these licences, we have seen the development and growth of open educational resources, open access research, open data and other forms of open content. What opportunities can Creative Commons provide for learning and teaching?

University of Technology Sydney is pleased to invite Dr. Cable Green, Director of Open Knowledge at Creative Commons to speak on the crucial role of Creative Commons licences in promoting open access to knowledge.

A leading expert on open licensing and the Creative Commons movement, Cable will share his thoughts on the impact of Creative Commons on:

 • Learning and teaching communities and the opportunities it provides for collaboration, sharing and innovation.
 • Solving the world’s most pressing problems including climate change and biodiversity preservation.
