OER STUDENT LEARNING ASSESSMENT

A study was conducted in fall 2016 to examine student experiences and learning using open educational resources in Introduction to Sociology and Introduction to Psychology courses at West Hills College Lemoore. The research included both quantitative and qualitative measures. The study group consisted of students who completed courses with adopted OER texts and materials published by OpenStax and supplemental resources (i.e. videos, simulations, news articles, etc.) with Creative Commons and standard copyright licenses attributing authorship or permissions as required by law.
