Library as Open Education Leader Research Project

←Back to list of resources
For three years librarians in Washington State worked collaboratively with faculty to design open courseware as part of the Library as Open Education Leader project, a collaboration of community colleges in Washington. As part of this unique grant project, librarians, and faculty members kept ongoing journals explaining their work and how the relationship between librarian and discipline expert impacted the design effort of the course. This research helps to better define how librarians and faculty worldwide can help one another in the design and implementation of open courses. The impact of this research is to help libraries all over the world better understand the resources needed in planning for librarians' support of open education initiatives.
