VIDYA-MITRA: An Integrated e-Content Portal

Vidya-mitra: An Integrated e-Content Portal is one of the largest OER e-content repository in the world that hosts more than 62,000 multimedia e-content developed by Indian academic Institutions across the country under projects such as NPTEL, CEC, e-PG Pathshala, etc. funded by NME-ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India. The objective of this initiative is to provide single-point access to all e-content with search and browse facility through a user-friendly interface that provides links to other types of materials, such as e-books, e-journals, e-theses, etc. available through other initiatives of INFLIBNET Centre. The initiative, besides providing single-point access to all education e-content, also curates e-contents using digital preservation strategies to ensure its long-term availability. Vidya-mitra also incorporates selected e-content available in open access. Currently, it hosts e-Content for more than 40 projects from various Indian academic institutes. It supports Mobile-app, project & content Management System, free-text search / faceted search, browse by subjects, by nature of content (video/text/quizzes, etc), and by level of courses (School/UG/PG). Vidya-mitra has an aesthetically-designed web-interface with single search box with personalization features.
