LibreTexts Commons&Conductor

LibreTexts' Commons&Conductor platform is a bi-modal platform built to address new challenges in organizing construction and curation efforts of open educational resources (OER). Commons aggregates all open access texts from LibreTexts into a single public catalog, complete with keyword search and filtering options. Opening a catalog entry provides quick access to several different reading formats, a Table of Contents, and information about the content’s licensing. Conductor is a fully-featured project management system designed around teams (and individuals) building or curating open access texts or homework/assessment resources for the LibreTexts project. Users can create an unlimited number of “Projects” that containerize their efforts and include messaging and task lists (with calendar and Gantt chart views). Connecting a LibreText textbook to Conductor enables the Peer Review feature, in which teams select a rubric for users or visitors to evaluate the quality of their work. Finally, creators can upload Ancillary Materials such as slide decks, worksheets, and reading notes that become available for public download on the text’s Commons catalog entry. These tools allow LibreTexts content to “come alive” and go beyond static text while continuously growing and improving over time. LibreTexts' Commons&Conductor are free for educators across the globe to access and use; free account required
