Open Education Week is made of what the global community contributes. Start sharing here.
Every year since 2012, institutions, organizations, and individuals worldwide focus one week in March sharing, discussing, and celebrating their contributions to the ideals of Open Education. This is Open Education Week.
All open educators, students, policymakers, technologists, and enthusiasts, community members, wherever you may be, are invited to host events and share resources for OEWeek 2026. This effort is to focus visibility on efforts that go on every week.

Events
Events are activities that take place any time between February 1 and April 30! We will emphasize them the most during the Open Education Week Launch March 2-6. Events can be live in-person local, online, or asynchronous events, as a series or single events.
To inspire you, explore our Event Ideas Handbook, explore the see events from the 2024 and 2025 calendar or explore the archive of older OEWeek events (2015-2023).
We hope you contribute any kind of open education event to our community calendar.

Assets
Open Assets are resources (e.g. OERs, textbooks, courses, libraries of resources, or education modules) of educational value and purpose that are openly licensed and accessible. We urge you to share any new or current open assets of interest to whatever repository is suitable. In particular we offer guides for sharing in OER Commons and adding to the OER World Map, plus contribute to our ongoing sharing in the OEG Connect community.
Find inspiration from the open assets shared in 2025, in 2024, plus the OEWeek assets archive from 2015-2023.
