This year, OEWeek is focused on being the “town square” of the global open education community – a place to connect, share tips and ideas, showcase successful practices, and present open textbooks, materials, and resources. Â
The OEGlobal team will be focused on sharing events from March 2 to 6, but we know OEWeek runs for more than one week. We want to include as many types and formats of open activities as possible on the community calendar until the end of April. By doing this, we can show just how widespread Open Education is and encourage more people to join the community this year.
This is the 15th edition of OEWeek. Since 2012, the open education community in 42 countries has hosted 2,655 events and shared 1,127 Open Education assets or OERs. Open Education Week has shared the joys and benefits of Open Education with over 117,620 engaged participants from 162 countries.
