Dr Mags Amond is a retired science teacher who has recently completed a PhD exploring TeachMeet. She is an advocate for openess in education in its many forms, with a keen interest in how it can serve a teacher’s personal professional practice. Dr Eamon Costello is an Associate Professor of Digital Learning in the School of STEM Education Innovation and Global Studies at the Institute of Education, Dublin City University. He teaches a range of subjects related to digital learning, computer science and computational thinking in education. Previously Head of the Open Education Unit in Dublin City University provider of distance and online education to 1,000 students. He has presented and published widely on research in the area of education and educational technology and is a member of the management board of CASTeL the largest STEM Education research centre in Ireland.
John Hegarty has been a teacher for 30+ years. He was our CESI representative on the NCCA LC CS development group and a phase 1 LC CS teacher. John is also on the CESI exec and manages the CESI mailing list. He is a member of the Irish Linux Users Group and promotes the use of Open Source software. Dr Verena Roberts is a passionate online and blended K-12 and Higher Education educator, open learning designer and consultant who completed her EdD in Learning Sciences with a focus on K-12 Open Educational Practices with the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. She is currently an Instructional Designer with Thompson Rovers University (Open Learning) and an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Uof Calgary. She is a 2018-2019 OER Research fellow and 2018 Global Open Graduate Network (#GO-GN) member. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and her current research interest is figuring out Authentic Assessment using AI tools and equity in children’s soccer programs (football everywhere else in the world).
