Invited Talk: “Designing AI-Supported OER: Creation, Scale, and Responsible Use” TAMU

Thu March 5, 2026 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm GMT

Generative artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to support the creation, revision, and scaling of open educational resources (OER). As institutions adopt AI to accelerate open textbook development and reduce reliance on commercial publisher materials, there is a growing need for clear structures that ensure quality, accessibility, and institutional accountability. Without intentional guardrails, AI-assisted OER creation can introduce uncertainty around authorship, licensing, accuracy, and long-term sustainability.
