Webinar context:
Open Education thrives on collaboration, shared knowledge, and sustainable practices. Yet in an era marked by rapid digital transformation, increasingly fragmented educational ecosystems, and widening learner diversity, Communities of Practice face a dual challenge: managing expanding volumes of open resources and translating them into actionable guidance that supports teachers’ evolving professional realities.
This session positions Systematic Information Management as a foundational strategy to operationalize pedagogical horizon scanning, helping educators identify, interpret, and apply emerging practices, research insights, and open resources to design relevant, inclusive learning experiences.
Our webinar will highlight how structured curation, shared taxonomies, and open repositories can transform scattered signals (OER, classroom innovations, research findings, policy shifts, and community knowledge) into reusable learning assets—toolkits, learning pathways, micro-credentials, and practice-oriented briefs—that inform, train, and upskill Communities of Practice. In contexts where professional learning days are often dedicated to policy messaging rather than sustained instructional adaptation, embedding systematic information practices within open ecosystems enables communities to co-create knowledge, strengthen OER sustainability, and build inclusive, cross-border professional learning networks that respond to diverse learners and real classroom needs.
