Title: Supercharging the Creation of Open Textbook Resources as a Student

Abstract: Pressbooks offers editors the possibility to edit and create textbooks using a visual editor and publish it live for usage in university courses. Students can then access these resources at no cost to them. There is opportunity for professors to collaborate with students for further supporting the publication of material and if they have the ability, they can learn how to use web development techniques for successfully publishing on Pressbooks.
In this talk, Orandi will explain how he assisted Associate Professor Jacqui Gagnon with developing her open textbook.

Title: OER Quality: Bridging the Gap Between Openness and Expertise

Abstract: As a big advocate of OER, Dr. Sardarli recognizes there is a problem with the quality of OER. He will present on how to bridge the gap between openness and expertise.
