How to turn your classroom sketches into editable objects instantly
Thu March 5, 2026 @ 11:00 pm - 11:30 pm GMT

Teachers still think with pencils, markers, and quick sketches. The problem starts when those sketches need to become clean, reusable teaching materials. In this 30-minute OEWeek session, chemistry teacher Nick DeMello will share how he keeps the human part of teaching intact while producing clearer, faster-to-update lesson visuals.
Then we’ll demo Comak, an AI tool that turns hand-drawn STEM diagrams (from paper, whiteboards, or textbook photos) into clean, editable diagram objects you can place into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, or Canva. The goal is simple: spend less time redrawing and more time teaching.
You’ll leave with a practical workflow you can use the same day, plus examples that work especially well for chemistry, maths, and physics lessons. Open educators and classroom teachers are welcome, whether you are OER-focused or just looking for a better way to create and share learning materials during Open Education Week.
