Exploring the Dubai Declaration on OER: Advancing Global Access to Knowledge

This webinar will explore how emerging technologies and open-source tools are reshaping Open Educational Resources (OER). In light of the Dubai Declaration on OER and its complementary role to the UNESCO 2019 Recommendation on OER, the webinar will delve into open licensing frameworks, overcoming barriers and scaling innovations globally—especially within regions like the Pacific region.
The speakers will share concrete examples, policy insights, and regional perspectives to inspire stakeholders and guide future developments in open education.
Objectives:
- Raise awareness of the Dubai Declaration and its role in advancing the UNESCO 2019 Recommendation on OER.
- Examine the transformative potential of emerging technologies in creating, curating, and disseminating OER.
- Showcase regional examples and case studies to illustrate how the Dubai Declaration can be operationalized locally and globally.
