The OEWeek Ambassador Program

For 2026 we are piloting the OEWeek Ambassador Program as an effort of supporting the community organized events of Open Education Week.

OEWeek Ambassadors are selected volunteer community members who support Open Education Week by showing up for the activities happening around the globe. The Ambassador role centers care, connection, and visibility, making community efforts feel seen, valued, and supported during OEWeek.

Ambassadors participate as audience members in community-organized sessions, as visible representatives of OEGlobal and its regional nodes. Ambassadors use a shared visual identity (webinar background), introduce themselves in chat, and contribute thoughtfully when appropriate during question and answer periods. Most importantly, they amplify events by capturing highlights and reflections from the sessions they attend to share out with the community.

The Ambassadors are not showing up to speak or to be on stage, only to be present as an engaged audience member. You will see them active in the session chats and where cameras are allowed, wearing the OEWeek Ambassador background screen.

Our 2026 Ambassadors

We are not seeking to overly manage this program, so we are starting small by inviting a select group to be Ambassadors. In future years, we will make this a more open opportunity, but if you are eager to know more or be part of it, contact us via hello@openeducationweek.org.

To be listed soon are the names of our OEWeek Ambassadors once they have checked in after the events they choose to attend.

Ambassadors Share Back

A key role of the Ambassadors is to report back one or more highlights from an OEWeek Event, useful URLS, and or a key quote. These will be added below as they are sent in, so we collectively are curating what is shared across hundreds of events each year.
