Sharing open assets in existing repositories
Traditionally during Open Education Week we called for contributions of open “assets” to be added to our own custom database (see the archive of resources added 2015 – 2023). Over the past two years we have flipped this approach, instead suggesting participants contribute to existing larger or more regionally relevant repositories. We suggest it is better to add open assets in the places more easily found.
Like last year, we are suggesting use of two (of many) options for asset sharing- OER Commons and the OER World Map. Together we can make a significant impact on their collections of open resources.
But we do not limit where you choose to share open assets. A third option is that you share your open assets wherever is most appropriate and then add a post with some details in our OE Global Connect community space. As a reference, see a list repositories suggested for Open Education Week 2024 (and we are always taking more suggestions)
In the spirit of Open Education Week, the sharing of assets is aimed at making a strong statement of what participants can contribute together to the global collection open education resources.
Get ready to be active starting now and during Open Education Week 2026 through one of these pathways.
