A Global Collection of Open Assets shared for Open Education Week 2026

Sharing open assets in existing repositories

Traditionally during Open Education Week we called for contributions of open “assets” to be added to our own custom database (see the archive of resources added 2015 – 2023). Over the past two years we have flipped this approach, instead suggesting participants contribute to existing repositories. We are looking for either open assets that you have published recently as well as existing OER that you recommend to others.

Like last year, we are suggesting use of two (of many) options for asset sharing- OER Commons and the OER World Map. Together we can make a significant impact on their collections.

But we do not limit where you choose to share open assets. We encourage you to share your open assets wherever is most appropriate – see below for suggested repositories. Please use the OERs Added Around the World form to let the community know what has been shared for 2026.

In the spirit of Open Education Week, the sharing of assets is aimed at making a strong statement of what participants can contribute together to the global collection open education resources.

Get ready to be active starting now and during Open Education Week 2026 by adding assets to our OEWeek Town Square.

Suggested Repositories

We list a few repositories as options to use in the OERs Added Around the World form (we are taking suggestions for more to add in OEG Connect). You can list the name of any repository you have chosen to share your open assets for OEWeek, these are just suggestions.

Comprehensive, Multi-Format Repositories

Large Open Textbook Repositories

Note

This list was drafted in an ongoing discussion in OEG Connect. We invite you to add suggestions there for repositories we should add to the form or you can send them via hello@openeducationweek.org
