Supercharge teaching & learning with Open Education
Fri March 6, 2026 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm GMT

This workshop from the University of Leeds Library introduces the core concepts and practical benefits of Open Education in higher education and beyond. Participants explore what Open Educational Resources (OER) are, why they matter, and how they can enhance accessibility, equity, and student engagement.
The course highlights the pedagogical value of open practice, including renewable assignments and student co-creation of learning materials. Participants are introduced to key tools such as Pressbooks and Sylla, alongside guidance on finding, adapting, and licensing open resources responsibly.
By the end of the course, participants will have practical strategies to start using open education in their teaching and learning, supported by institutional guidance from the University of Leeds Libraries and examples of good practice.
